Yes, now I remember why I gave up this enterprise so many months ago. I just tried to upload photos onto something called 'picasaweb,' which is supposed to make it easy to do, and it's free, yadda, yadda. The idea is to post a link on this blog to picasaweb, so that people can easily link to our photos. (I stole this idea from our good friend Emily, who knows how to do this stuff.)
Well, like I said, I just tried to do this with the latest roll of photos I had developed, and it is just insane how time-consuming and hard it is to do (for me). First of all, you can't just upload the entire photo CD to the picasaweb. You have to do one photo at a time. There is a download on the picasaweb site to help you upload an entire photo album, but of course my Mac is too old for it.
Also, the iphoto program that came with my Mac is so user-unfriendly...it really doesn't help you at all with moving photos to different places. About the most I seem to be able to do is import photos from the photo CD into iphoto. Then when I go to look for the photos from iphoto, to upload into the picasaweb, I can't find the goddamn photos! If the CD is in the drive, then I can find them. But a monkey could probably do that.
What I really need is a full-time iphoto technician or whatever to stand next to me as I try to accomplish these things and talk me through it step by step. Or maybe I'll just throw money at them until they make it work.
This is the kind of shit that I just have no patience for whatsoever. See, it's a beautiful day outside, and I'm farting around on this crappy computer and these crappy programs that I can't operate.
Okay, now that I've expressed my frustration with this whole thing, I will go back and see what progress I can make. Wish me luck...
